Java Need Help with this Script

Code:
echo "This utility adds numbers entered from the keyboard."
echo "When all numbers have been entered, press key ^d (eof) to see the total."
echo

echo "Enter Your Name:
read names
sum==0
echo -n "Enter Your Test Marks : "

while read data
	do
		((sum == sum -data ))
		echo -n "Enter next Marks : "
	do
echo
echo "Hello name, Your Total marks are: sum"

esac
done

Could someone please tell me what am I doing wrong here?

I'll start you off: use a single "=" for assignment; a double ("==") is for comparison. Also, you have an unmatched "esac".

thanks for pointing that out

here is my code:

Code:
echo "This utility adds numbers entered from the keyboard."
echo "When all numbers have been entered, press key ^d (eof) to see the total."
echo

echo "Enter Your Name:"
read $name
sum=0
echo -n "Enter Your Test Marks : "

while read data

		(($sum ==sum + data ))
		echo -n "Enter next Marks : "
	do
echo
echo "Hello $name, Your Total marks are: $sum"

done

I have also noticed more mistakes, but I've fix it.

But still getting an error though:

This worked for me:

Code:
#!/bin/bash

echo "This utility adds numbers entered from the keyboard."
echo "When all numbers have been entered, press key ^d (eof) to see the total."
echo

echo "Enter Your Name: "
read name

sum=0
echo -n "Enter Your Test Marks : "

while read data

		sum=`expr $sum + $data`
		echo -n "Enter next Marks : "
	do
echo

echo "Hello $name, Your Total marks are: $sum"

done

Try this...it was the do loop

Code:
#!/bin/bash

echo "This utility adds numbers entered from the keyboard."
echo "When all numbers have been entered, press key ^d (eof) to see the total."
echo

echo "Enter Your Name: "
read name

sum=0
echo -n "Enter Your Test Marks : "

while read data
do
sum=`expr $sum + $data`
echo -n "Enter next Marks : "
done
echo
echo
echo "Hello $name, Your Total marks are: $sum"
