Use maybe sed or tr to remove the commas, and maybe cut, awk or sed to get your wanted string.

An example for example Smilie has been answered to a former post of you:

For deleting a character, best try it out, use it yourself. It is very easy.

Hammer & Screwdriver Is this what you are trying to accomplish?

> echo "start protocol:","Received message:","Received SIGNON req","SIGNON_REPLY->SIGNON" | tr -d " " | tr "," " "
startprotocol: Receivedmessage: ReceivedSIGNONreq SIGNON_REPLY->SIGNON
