CRONTAB problem

Hi i was working on an Unix server/ While logging out i used to type the command exit and log out. Yesterday when i was logging out i got an message saying "YOU HAVE STOPPED JOBS". i have not done anything other than giving exit. What could the reason the message was displayed. I thought i had stopped the cronjobs and that was the reason the message was dispalyed.

What does this message mean exactly?
message: "you have stopped the jobs"
when will this error message be displayed?

Please guide meSmilie and thanks in advance.

you must have put 'jobs' in the background in the shell you're trying to 'exit'. See the list of the background jobs by doing 'jobs'.

fine. Thanks. I just wanted to confirm if this message is related to cronjobs. Becasue there are hundred's of cronjobs runnning in back ground. That should not get affected.
How will find if the cronjob is running or not? I also need to know where can i find the cronjob log. Please let me know.

"Stopped jobs" means an interactive job started in that shell. In so many words, you pressed ctrl-z to stop a process (a less perhaps?), and it's still waiting for you to either fg or bg the process to resume it, or kill it. Anyway, this is completely unrelated to your cron jobs.

The system log is someplace like /var/log/messages and contains notices about what cron jobs are being run, but it might not be easily correlated with what you have in your crontab. What exactly gets logged and where also depends on your syslog configuration and which Unix variant or clone you are using; these things are simply designed to be flexible, and not very well standardized. But again, if the "stopped jobs" message is the reason you are concerned, it's completely unrelated.
