I have a files in witch there are a column of numbers like
number1
number2
number3

And I want to get each number ( in a ksh script ) and affect it to a variable, for ex:

P1 = number1
P2 = number2
P3 = number3

Do you help me to do that ?

How about:
Code:
for file in $FILELIST ; do
     exec < $file
     read P1
     read P2
     read P3
     echo $P1 $P2 $P3
done

Hi,

I gues this should work out

var=1
for i in `cat filename`
do
export P${var}=`echo ${i}`
var=`expr ${var} + 1`
done
