In both cases it hangs, looks like some syntax issue. any further suggestions !!
neither worked!!
also my script is a ksh script.
The code works fine on sh, bash, and ksh, and tested on different platforms ( GNU and other ), according to your initial request.
The command that you're using :
will give you a count of the lines, but it won't tell you if one of the lines is missing, ( its exit status will be 0 if only one line is found, out of three that you're searching for ), and this contradicts your first requirement:
Quote:
I want to check if all 3 lines exist or not, meaning an AND condition.
There is not enough clarity in your request. Anyway, if you want to get a count of your lines you could modify my code, ( using grep -c and assigning its output to variables, and summing them up), or using other tools as well.
Thanks for getting back!! My requirements is still the same. Since the grep logic didn't work for me, I started trying the sed logic and I thought I can check if the count returned is 3.
Anyways, I carefully looked at my grep code again, there was some syntax issue, it is working now. Many Thanks for your time!!

When I try to insert variable it is not working.
