how to grep this date format

2008-01-10
2008-01-05
2008-01-02

i wrote the format as

date +"%Y-%m-%d"

but this format is showing me the current date i,e 2008-01-11....i dnt want current date i want the previous date.

so plz any1 help me in giving me the date format for grepping other dates other than todays date.................

Yesterday
$ date +%Y-%m-%d -d "yesterday"
2008-01-10

Tomorrow
$ date +%Y-%m-%d -d "next day"
2008-01-12

thanks for ur reply.actually i want to grep dates other than current date in the format year-month-day.........like 2008-10-15.
not exactly this date by in this format...........

try the -v option of grep

here in this script i m checking into the files and checking whether todays entry is made or not....if not then it will put the other dates that is previous date into the plogs.txt

but having some problem,i think in for loop
