You could try a 'sanity' check for the absolute target.

Like: (using only 'true'/'false' exit codes)

#!/bin/bash
# Not sure if this works on a true 'sh', as mine is 'bash'...
if [ -z "$varFLSentFileListPath$varFLSentFileName" ]
then	echo "Variables are not set! : varFL* : ${!varFL*}"
	exit 1
elif [ -s "$varFLSentFileListPath/$varFLSentFileName" ]
then	echo "Target exist, and has source code"
	exit 0
elif [ -f "$varFLSentFileListPath/$varFLSentFileName" ]
then	echo "Target exist, but is empty."
	exit 1
else	echo "Target does not exist."
	exit 1
fi

However, basicly one could make it as simple as:

# I simply had a file named 'dummy' in current pwd, which was taken if i didnt pass an argument/file
[ -s "${1:-./dummy}" ] && \
	echo "File exist, and has source code." && \
	return 0 || \
	echo "File not found, or has no source code."
return 1

Hello, I want to make a script which says if a text file is empty or not. I tried two ways of making it, but I have problems with both of them.
