i need to calculate them. for a simple example x*y/z..that's why i think i should 'save' the data into a variable.

try:

Code:
x=`sed -n 1p file`
y=`sed -n 2p file`
z=`sed -n 3p file`

what's the meaning of 1p or 2p?
what i know -n is for the line number, right?

Okay, that's a little different from what I thought.

Code:
exec 5<filename # Open file

read x <&5 # Read individual lines into varibles
read y <&5
read z <&5

exec 5<&- # Close file

No, -n is don't print line unless told
1p says print line 1

You could also user pure shell like this:

Code:
( IFS=$'\n'
  read x
  read y
  read z
  echo x=$x y=$y z=$z  x*y+z=$((x*y+z))
) < infile

actually the data on file looks like this :

#there is some texts here
#also here
123 12 1234

and then i try to 'grep' those numbers with this :

Code:
grep -e '^[0-9]* [0-9]*$' $file | tr ' ' '\n'

that's why those number will be line by line.

Maybe do You habe another Idea? how to make a new variable with a each data of all those numbers? so at the end, it will be x=123, y=12, z=1234.

i really appreciate your help. thanks

Code:
awk '/^[^#]/ {printf("%.2f\n", $1*$2/$3}' myFile
