regarding dormancy in connection

Hi All,

I am connecting to a Private Network (with proper authorisation only)
using a R connect Dialer

But the problem that i am encountering is Private Network gets disconnected after some time when dormancy exists in transmission for few seconds.

Can i script an infinite loop with regular sleep intervals and run as background job. Will that remove as the dormancy in transmission

I am not sure of this.

And the second doubt is:

How to determine the KBps - connectivity to the internet programmatically without the standard rate given by the vendor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
