Suggestion: use a .htaccess file in a lower directory to get to a page that he can access a shell script to add information to a file - that way it's protected by a password so others can't get to it.
Then, just create a shell script (your choice) that simply adds information to a file which can be viewed on the original page.
An example which shows how to collect the info to be added to the file (play with it so you know what is happening - then increase the text amount allowed):
