I have a file:

prM:
device = lp0
lp0:
file = /dev/lp0
header = never
pr1:
device = dummy
dummy:
backend = tutu
header = toto
pr3:
device = dummy
dummy:
backend = titi



My script has in input "pr1" (it could be "pr3" or an other...) and I want delete this part:

pr1:
device = dummy
dummy:
backend = tutu
header = toto


Could you help me?

If the position of pr1 is the same all the time then i guess you can try this

sed '/[6-10]/d' sedfile

or

sed '6,/toto/d'

something to start with - not exactly what you need, but.....:
sed -e '/^pr1/,/^pr/d' file

$sed '/pr1:/,/header/ d' filex
prM:
device = lp0
lp0:
file = /dev/lp0
header = never
pr3:
device = dummy
dummy:
backend = titi

...only if you can assume consistent order of lines.

sed /pr1/,/=/d file1

again - it assumes certain order of lines.
it will break if the last line in "block" was "dummy:".

I cannot think of a clean way to 'bring back' the "pr" header of the next block myself - not that good with sed myself.
