Execution Problems with Cron

Hi,

I have written a shell script to transfer files to a SFTP server passing the filername, source and dest directory as parameters and it runs well. Smilie

I want to schedule this script to run periodically using a cron job.

Code:
root@pingu # cat /etc/crontab
SHELL=/bin/bash
PATH=/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin
HOME=/
# run-parts
5 * * * * GT_FILE_OUTBOUND.sh XXGT_IN* /tmp/asa bacs >> /tmp/asa/Cronresult.log

Is this code correct way to call the program GT_FILE_OUTBOUND and have I used the correct way to pass the 3 parameters to this CRON, Im not sure because it does not run Smilie

I want to test it to run every 5 mins for a start and then modify the same if it works fine.

Pls help Smilie

When crond runs ajob it DOES NOT LOGIN. That means environment variables like PATH are not the same as yours when you log in.

That means, for one thing, any of the commands you enter in a crontab have to be fully qualified file names: /home/chetan/GT_FILE_OUTBOUND.sh XXGT_IN

Using the * character to wilcard filenames (glob) is probably not going to work reliably
either
change that to
Code:
`/usr/bin/find /home/chetan -name 'XXGT_IN *'`

change the /home/chetan part to the correct full directory name.
