Shell Programming and Scripting

Hello -

I am new to shell scripting. There is an existing shell script to check the status of our application servers.There is a new requirement to update the shell script:

The logic is as follows:

Step 1: Execute a command say for e.g: find . -mtime +30
Step 2: wait for 60 seconds
Step 3: Check to see if the command is still executing
Step 3a: If the command is still running
Step 3a.1: Kill the process
Step 3a.1: Send notification to the team
Step 3b: If not running
Step 3b.1: Continue with the next line of the script

P.S: This is on bash.
Please help me on this.

Anything you tried yourself?

I tried this :
count=1
until [ $count -gt 6 ]
execute the specified command
if [ $? == 0 ]
then
exit
else
sleep 10
count=`echo $((count+1))`
fi
done

But the requirement is to execute the specified command only once and not in a loop.
