Run .command at specific times
Okay so I've got a command to start my java server up, but I want it to start at say 8:00AM and then stop at 11:00PM. In order to stop it I have to type stop and press enter in the terminal. I've been trying to get this to work and I'm having no luck. Here's my command:

cd "`dirname "$0"`"
java -Xmx1G -Xms1G -jar server.jar

I'm not completely sure how to make it do what I want, I'm a bit of a scripting noob Smilie Thanks!

EDIT: I forgot to add that I'm running Mac OS X 10.6 Smilie

set the start/stop script in cronjob, such as:

0 8 * * * /bin/bash script.sh start
0 23 * * * /bin/bash script.sh stop

by stop script, you need "ps -ef |grep XXXX" to find out the PID, then kill it.

Okay I got it working using CronniX (yes, I cheated) to start it in the morning I just put in
Code:
/Users/user/Desktop/Server/start.command

and to stop it I did
Code:
killall java

Everything seems to be working now Smilie
