rlogin and script

I am writing a script to do rlogin to another system and execute commands on the remote system, i can successfully login to the remote system but the commands are not sent. i can only use rlogin to get to the remote system.
what can i do?

As stated in the rlogin manpage: the rlogin utility establishes a remote login session from your terminal to the remote machine named hostname. What you need to use is rsh, which was listed in the See Also section of the rlogin manpage.

@m.d.ludwig, I only have access to rlogin, does it mean I cant use it in a script?

Typicall, if rlogin is avaible, so is rsh.
Depending on the OS, it may be called "remsh".

rlogin is really meant to be used interactively.

Then you will not be able run scripts on remote systems.
Do you have 'ssh'?

What Operating System and version are you running?
What is the result from these queries:

type rsh

Or is it a restriction of the remote system?
If so, you may need to use "expect".

From any computer on our network when you rlogin into one machine (this only happens on this machine) it'll hang for about 3 minutes before loggin into that machine.
