Question Need help regarding awk
Hi All,

I have one configuration file called 'TestingPacks.config' as follows:

install.SDH=false
install.620SAM=false
install.IOS=true
install.foundry=false
install.LEOS=true

As you can see record 3 and 5 has value as true.

I need an awk statement which can give me the value as IOS and LEOS.

These values afterwords I want to use in a shell script.

ie. for every record that has true value, i need all those corresponding values.

Can we use like:

packsName=$(cat TestingPacks.config|grep true|awk '{print $3}')

I am little bit confused since the delimiter is different ('.' and '=') in .config file.

Can anyone suggest?

I need this urgently!!

But now going more deeply,
If I have config file like,

install.AlcatelSDH=false
install.alcatel_5620SAM=false
install.ciscoIOS=true
install.foundry=false
install.CienaLEOS=false
install.ciscoCRS=true
install.juniperCommon=false
install.juniperIP=false
install.juniperMX=false
install.eJuniper=false

execute.AlcatelSDH=false
execute.alcatel_5620SAM=false
execute.ciscoIOS=true
execute.foundry=false
execute.CienaLEOS=false
execute.ciscoCRS=true
execute.juniperCommon=false
execute.juniperIP=false
execute.juniperMX=false
execute.eJuniper=false

Then I want 2 sets of variable.
First variable will correspond to install and other to execute.
Is there a way to do this?

awk -F'[=.]' '/^install.*=true/{print $2}' infile

or pass variable in with sys you want:

nawk -F'[=.]' -vsys=install '$0 ~ "^"sys".*=true" { print $2}' infile

Someone pls tell me how this delimiter in awk mean -F [=.] Does it mean it has 2 delimiters = and a . or a single one as =.
