As long as it we are in the 1st file do...

... fill an associative array with the name _, where field 1 is the key value and field 2 is the assigned value to that key. Then skip with next all follwing commands.
So some contents of file1 are completely read into an associative array.

Following applies when we handle the second file:

{print $1, _[$1]+$2}

For every record/line in file2 ($1 of file1 is always the same as in file2 so I did not check if they match) we print the current field 1 of file2 and the content of the matching array of file1 where the content is field 2 of file1 being added with field 2 of the current file, file2.

First file is file1 and the second file is read from stdin, which handed over via pipe from ssh.
