If you're using GNU grep, you can use:
Code:
grep -B NUM

where NUM is the amount of lines to get 'B'efore the match.

Otherwise, try:
Code:
sed -n '/\/clocal\/rcc\/user\/dgircc\/bin\/appcontext\/dcClearAppContext.ksh PROD/{g;1!p;};h' infile

Code:
awk '$0~"/clocal/rcc/user/dgircc/bin/appcontext/dcClearAppContext.ksh PROD"{print p};{p=$0}' infile

i got output as
Code:
awk: syntax error near line 1
awk: bailing out near line 1

for
Code:
'$0~"/clocal/rcc/user/dgircc/bin/appcontext/dcClearAppContext.ksh PROD"{print p};{p=$0}' infile

Are you on Solaris? If so, use nawk or /usr/xpg4/bin/awk instead of awk and/or /usr/xpg4/bin/sed instead of sed.
The grep error message shows that the grep you are using is not GNU grep. It probably is not installed on your system.

If indeed on Solaris, and you still want to go the grep route, you may have the Optional software packages installed in /usr/sfw/bin.

In which case, you can find probably: /usr/sfw/bin/ggrep

This should be GNU grep.

Perl solution:

Code:
$
$
$ cat f1
>  sys 11954 c Sat Aug 28 05:15:00 2010
<  sys 11954 c Sat Aug 28 05:15:02 2010
>  CMD: /clocal/rcc/user/dgircc/bin/appcontext/dcClearAppContext.ksh PROD
$
$
$ perl -lne 'm{/clocal/rcc/user/dgircc/bin/appcontext/dcClearAppContext.ksh PROD} && print $p; $p=$_' f1
<  sys 11954 c Sat Aug 28 05:15:02 2010
$
