Question ARCHIVO DIVIDIDO EN COLUMNAS (perl)

Hola!
mi pregunta es la siguiente: tengo que hacer un programa en perl en el que me lea un archivo dividido en columnas (separado por espacios). Necesito que al introducir por pantalla uno de los valores almacenados en una de las columnas me dé el valor de otra columna de esa misma fila.
por ejemplo:
COLUMNA 1 COLUMNA2 COLUMNA3
Juan 23 Madrid
Pedro 35 Huelva
María 12 Cádiz

En este caso, si introduzco "Huelva", quiero que el programa busque esa palabra en el archivo y me dé como salida "Pedro".
