rights to FTP user

hi
i want create a user to ftp (get) files from the 2nd machine.
but i want to give specific rights to that user that he can't access only specific files and directories.

please suggest

It depends on the version of ftp that you are using. Some versions of ftp such as vsftp support good fine-grained control of what users can or cannot do. Others do not and you have to depend on the file permissions.
