sort

Hi,

we have a code line like this ...

Code:
sort -r -u +1 $srv_lst | sort -k 1,1r > $srv_srt


what's the use of +1 here .It's working on KSH and failing in BASH.

It's an obsolete way of specifying a sort key. Neither ksh nor bash should have any problem with it. If there's a problem, it's most likely to be with the sort command.

Are you executing that pipeline on different machines which may be utilizing differing sort implementations? If using the same machine with different shells, make sure that the PATH environment variable doesn't differ (which could cause different sort commands to run if there is more than one on the system). To determine the full path to the sort executable found by each shell, type 'which sort'.
