I am very very new to Unix, working on a shell script for my job and was just trying to come up with the correct find command. I get a > symbol on a new line. Hi all.
I need help with a command to locate a substring from a string.
My problem is I am passing a direcotry name as a command line argument and I need to ensure that user should not pass certain directories.
E.g ther are Directories under ==> /opt/projects/* which should not be passed... (3 Replies)

Hello. I need to reinstall my Unix Open Server Release: 5 on my Compaq proliant 800, but, my floppy bootdisk Release:5.0.4 is bad. Where can I download that version. That release of Unix is no longer supported by SCO.

Windows provides a find option but i would like to know the equivalent in UNIX.
for example i need to search for a file called uv.config and where exactly it is located in a unix server.

my company is considering a new development of our web site, which used to run on Apachi over Solaris.
The company who is going to do this for us knows only about developing it in ASP.
I guess this means we'll have to have another ISS server on NT for these dynamic pages :(
