Correct, this should be OK:

Code:
 awk 'END {
  for (V in v)
    if (v[V] >= ARGC - 1)
      print V
    }
{ f[FILENAME,$0]++ || v[$0]++ }
' *csv

As always wonderfully brief SmilieI had to put the for loop statements between {} or I got a syntax error on Solaris. Love that || Smilie

Hm, as I said:

Code:
$ head *csv
==> 1.csv <==
abc
def

==> 2.csv <==
abc
xyb

==> 3.csv <==
abc
e23
frw
$  awk 'END {
  for (V in v)
    if (v[V] >= ARGC - 1)
      print V
    }
{ f[FILENAME,$0]++ || v[$0]++ }
' *csv
awk: syntax error near line 6
awk: bailing out near line 6
$ /usr/xpg4/bin/awk 'END {
  for (V in v)
    if (v[V] >= ARGC - 1)
      print V
    }
{ f[FILENAME,$0]++ || v[$0]++ }
' *csv
abc
$ nawk 'END {
  for (V in v)
    if (v[V] >= ARGC - 1)
      print V
    }
{ f[FILENAME,$0]++ || v[$0]++ }
' *csv
abc
$

... do not use /usr/bin/awk a.k.a. oawk on Solaris Smilie

Ah I did not see your earlier post, I was looking at your response to summer_cherry. For some reason my web browsers all insist on using cached versions of the web pages so I keep missing things because I forget to refresh.

Anyway thanks for the lesson, you have made me re think a few things. Smilie
