Java Delete all line breakes from File doesnt work


I have to delete all line breakes but it doenst work.
$ sed -e 's/\\n//g' file.txt
and the output contents still line breakes.
What should I do?

tr -d '\n' < file.txt

# 3

At his time I only thought I can handle this Problem with
sed or awk

Awk is easy:

awk '{ printf "%s", $0 }' file.txt

It's possible with sed, too, but I wouldn't bother; it's too cryptic.
