Help!! I need a Command!
Hello! I need some help. I want to know which is the command to get characters from the shell. I donīt want to read characters from the keyboard. What I need is to read information that comes from an equipment.
Just to make it clear, let me give you a description of I want to do:

1) I need to telnet in an equipment (I know to do this)
2) The equipment send to the terminal a lot of information, and the last line is: ENTER USER LOGIN. I need to detect when it writes this line and after that send the user name, etc, etc.

Please, if you know how it will be so useful for me.

You might have to use software like expect

I need to get the information from the terminal. Why do you say that I have to use the software like expect?

There must be something to get this information.

I agree with the "expect" suggestion. It *might* be possible to this without expect. It is certainly possible to do this with expect.

OK! I can see. Maybe Iīm wrong and Iīve to use this software, because there no exist what Iīve supposed.
