SSH with Keys HOWTO: SSH with Keys in a console window

Thank you very much.
I tried earlier doing a ssh from a unix machine to another one. When the command is taken, I received a question (I don't remember the text). The answer was yes or no. If I want to automate this how can I write my script to answer yes to this question from ssh ? This part might be the hardest part of automation. I mean questios that the ssh asks and the user has to answer. Any Idea ?

I think he was asking about the ssh, but yes a force would work.

If you have the ssh key setup it shouldn't prompt you for anything. Depending on your ssh encrption key, I use a rsa key, you need at .ssh/authorized_keys2. If it's the first time you have sshed to the host, it's probably prompting you so it can add it to the .ssh/known_hosts file.

Here is a code example:
/usr/bin/scp <somefile> someuser@somehost
/usr/bin/ssh someuser@somehost "tar -xvf <somefile>"

Neither of these should prompt for a passwd if the ssh key is setup correctly.

Hope it helps.
