Ok not once did i hear, what kind of file system this guy was running on his XP machine, or maybe i miss read well if it was NTFS ther are easyer ways... and that dos utility would be useless..

Is this somthing you want done on a regular basis?

Ok when i reboot my machine its a pain in the A** i do not have a monitor on it and i know its going to eventualy ask me to type
BOot and then its going to ask me if i want to interact with...

I found somebody that has the same system and they sent me a copy of there login file and i changed the permission's on it and now it works find .... but i was praying there for a second...

how is your windows machine configured? wow i have spent many of nites before tests trying to find the information clearly explained like manderson19 did nice job and you were right on the money....

i did not even read what you posted before i answerd you, well what are the permissions of the sh_history do you even have read....?

Oh and i just wanted to let everyone know i am thankfull that i can give the answer to my own post, and i owe that thanks to THEKID, AND SHIBZ... and to everyone that has ever come up with and answer...

well i found this file in user's home directory
/home/%username% .sh_history
In any case i would do the following

more /home/%username%/.sh_history
or
cd /home/%username%
more .sh_history...

# fstyp /dev/dsk/c1t2d0
unknown_fstyp (no matches)

ok now im guessing here but this commad was to identify the file system type of the cd....

have mounted to both and still does not work

Ok i logged into CDE and ran dtconfig -d from in there and it worked fine without a problem and then rebooted my machine and it X did not come back up thanks alot everyone

both of these methods work great thanks alot... saves me a lot of headaces....

I have run dtconfig both ways that you are talking about and the result is the same..... but when i get home this evening i will check the other file....
