iTunes for Windows: Doesn't open after upgrading in Windows Vista or Windows 7

For help in opening iTunes for Windows in Windows XP or Windows 2000, see this article.Sometimes a newly-installed version of iTunes for Windows will not open, even though it still shows as running in the Windows Task Manager (To view Task Manager you can either right-click an empty area of the taskbar, and then click Task Manager or press Ctrl+Shift+Esc or press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, and then click Task Manager. You will be able to see iTunes under the Applications tab of the Task manager). This symptom could be caused by an unusable iTunes configuration file. Follow the steps below to troubleshoot this issue.
