Tcl_Sleep(3TCL) Tcl Library Procedures Tcl_Sleep(3TCL)__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________NAME
Tcl_Sleep - delay execution for a given number of milliseconds
SYNOPSIS
#include <tcl.h>
Tcl_Sleep(ms)
ARGUMENTS
int ms (in) Number of milliseconds to sleep.
_________________________________________________________________DESCRIPTION
This procedure delays the calling process by the number of milliseconds given by the ms parameter and returns after that time has elapsed.
It is typically used for things like flashing a button, where the delay is short and the application needn't do anything while it waits.
For longer delays where the application needs to respond to other events during the delay, the procedure Tcl_CreateTimerHandler should be
used instead of Tcl_Sleep.

Tcl_PutEnv(3TCL) Tcl Library Procedures Tcl_PutEnv(3TCL)__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________NAME
Tcl_PutEnv - procedures to manipulate the environment
SYNOPSIS
#include <tcl.h>
int
Tcl_PutEnv(string)
ARGUMENTS
CONST char *string (in) Info about environment variable in the form NAME=value. The string argument is in the system
encoding.
_________________________________________________________________DESCRIPTION
Tcl_PutEnv sets an environment variable. The information is passed in a single string of the form NAME=value. This procedure is intended
to be a stand-in for the UNIX putenv system call. All tcl-based applications using putenv should redefine it to Tcl_PutEnv so that they
will interface properly to the Tcl runtime.

Hi,
I have a doubt in introducing a delay in the programs.
We know that we do have a sleep() function/api using which
we can bring a delay in terms of seconds.
A minimum delay can be atleast 1 second.
Now I'm bothered about how to introduce a delay that is just
less than a second. Like... (3 Replies)

I need to to delay a process from 3sec.
At that 3sec other back ground processes also should stop.
(just sit 3sec for idle & then starts execution as normally)
I use sleep(3)-But it not stop the bg processes
I try to use loop but it not gurantee to wait 3sec.

I am running a psychology experiment with a UNIX shell script as a front end. This precedes each trial:
echo -e "\n\n\n ***Ready***"

Is there a way to get rid of the flashing cursor after the clear command has been executed or another command I could use instead? It is a... (0 Replies)
Hey everyone,
I'm coming from Linux where the top command gave me lots of process
info (particularly CPU time in milliseconds) and I'm trying to find
similar info in Solaris.
So far I've looked at prstat and ps but neither give cpu time in
milliseconds, both seem to have 1 second... (2 Replies)
I need to put a small delay into a shell script. I'm looking for something smaller than "sleep" - a second is way too long. I want to sleep something like 10 milliseconds. I've tried "usleep" and "nanosleep", but the script doesn't recognize them.
I'm using the bash shell but I'm willing to... (9 Replies)
