shishi_des - API function
SYNOPSIS

int shishi_des(Shishi * handle, int decryptp, const char key[8], const char iv[8], char * ivout[8], const char * in, size_t inlen, char **
out);
ARGUMENTS
Shishi * handle
shishi handle as allocated by shishi_init().
int decryptp
0 to indicate encryption, non-0 to indicate decryption.
const char key[8]
const char iv[8]
char * ivout[8]
const char * in
input character array of data to encrypt/decrypt.
size_t inlen
length of input character array of data to encrypt/decrypt.
char ** out newly allocated character array with encrypted/decrypted data.
DESCRIPTION
Encrypt or decrypt data (depending on decryptp) using DES in CBC mode. The out buffer must be deallocated by the caller.
RETURN VALUE
Returns SHISHI_OK iff successful.

ARGUMENTS
Shishi * handle
shishi handle as allocated by shishi_init().
const char * key
input character array with key to use.
size_t keylen
length of input character array with key to use.
const char * in
input character array of data to hash.
size_t inlen
length of input character array of data to hash.
char * outhash[16]
DESCRIPTION
Compute keyed checksum of data using HMAC-MD5. The outhash buffer must be deallocated by the caller.
RETURN VALUE
Returns SHISHI_OK iff successful.

We have a function called char * crypt(const char *ps, const char* key) to encrypt the password in the unix environment.. Do we have any decrypt function to decrypt it? If not then how can we verify the password through program?

Hi, I want to encrypt and decrypt a string(database password) which will be used in my scripts.
encrypt the string while storing in a file and while using it in other scripts
it should decrypt.
i tried below method. As it can decrypt easily, it is not recommended.

Currently restoring some data that has been encrypted using the naitive Solaris encrypt/decrypt commands. Taking ages, anyone used these before and are they usually really slow?

can some one help me how to encrypt and decrypt a file.
AIM: reade user input, encrypt it and save it to file.
while decryption read the encrypted file decrypt it and save the output in some variable.
