SYNOPSIS
cpufreq-selector [-c CPU] [-g GOV] [-f FREQ]
DESCRIPTION
cpufreq-selector is a command-line tool for choosing CPU frequency settings.

This program follows the usual GNU command line syntax, with long options starting with two dashes (`-'). A summary of options is included
below.
-?, --help " 10 Show summary of options.
-c NUMBER,
--cpu=NUMBER " 10 number of CPU to set. If omitted, zeroth CPU is implied.
-g GOV,
--governor=GOV " 10 CPU governor to use, such as ``powersave'', ``performance''.
-f FREQ,
--freq=FREQ " 10 CPU frequency to use, in kHz.

CPUPOWER-FREQUENCY-SET(1) cpupower Manual CPUPOWER-FREQUENCY-SET(1)NAME
cpupower frequency-set - A small tool which allows to modify cpufreq settings.
SYNTAX
cpupower [ -c cpu ] frequency-set [options]
DESCRIPTION
cpupower frequency-set allows you to modify cpufreq settings without having to type e.g. "/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scal-
ing_set_speed" all the time.
OPTIONS -d --min <FREQ>
new minimum CPU frequency the governor may select.
-u --max <FREQ>
new maximum CPU frequency the governor may select.
-g --governor <GOV>
new cpufreq governor.
-f --freq <FREQ>
specific frequency to be set. Requires userspace governor to be available and loaded.
-r --related
modify all hardware-related CPUs at the same time
REMARKS
By default values are applied on all cores. How to modify single core configurations is described in the cpupower(1) manpage in the --cpu
option section.
The -f FREQ, --freq FREQ parameter cannot be combined with any other parameter.
FREQuencies can be passed in Hz, kHz (default), MHz, GHz, or THz by postfixing the value with the wanted unit name, without any space (fre-
quency in kHz =^ Hz * 0.001 =^ MHz * 1000 =^ GHz * 1000000).
On Linux kernels up to 2.6.29, the -r or --related parameter is ignored.

The file /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_min_frequency reads a value of 800 Mhz . The powertop tool also suggested that 800 Mhz w3as the minimum frequency being used . I changed the above-mentioned file to 1.6 GHz and monitored powertop tool again . To my surprise, it still said that... (3 Replies)
Hello, I would like to know whether there is software to search for bottlenecks in the configuration PC. I'm talking about those cases where the increase in CPU frequency may not lead to anything in DDR1 RAM 300, for example. I would like to have software that shows which components are most... Hi ,

After this upgrade one of our pro*C program is utilizing around 20% of the CPU. Before upgarde its using only 0.2 %.
