my wireless usb adapter connect to net but the signal is very weak
i have wireless usb adapter rtl8187 from micromax company
my proplem is the signal is very weak and i cannot open website

can i increase the signal ?

Your signal is a reasonable -71dBm. Either there's too much obstruction for your USB adapter to send signals back, or your connection isn't working for other reasons. Do you know if the connection is secured? Can you show me the output of 'ifconfig'?

I see also you have two wireless devices in your system, the USB one and what looks like an intel wireless adapter.

Okay, you even have an IP address so you seem to be able to talk to the router... How well we don't know yet.

It could potentially be an MTU problem. Try 'ifconfig wlan0 mtu 1364' and see if that helps.

If not, post the output of 'ping -c 4 192.168.1.1' so we can see how well your system can talk to the router. Then 'ping -c 4 66.82.4.8' to see if you can actually get through to the internet at all with it.

It looks like you don't have a default gateway configured.

..either that or you've given yourself a static IP, in which case you should just switch it back to dhcp.
