Operating Systems AIX NFS automount on reboot

I added only automountd to the inittab but still after system reboot it didn't mount the nfs fs automatically. But when I give
Code:
mount all

command after the reboot, all the FS get mounted.
At this point, I think I'll inform the app team to manually mount NFS FSs after each reboot.

NB: the
Code:
/dev

in the /etc/filesystems was just a pseudo.

Cheers

There is a difference between "mount at boot" and "automount daemon".
The latter has own configuration files and does not use /etc/filesystems.

Concerning "mount at boot" I found two hints:
1. have mount=true in /etc/filesystems
2. run chfs -A yes on the file system
The man pages are your friend
Code:
man chfs
man filesystems
man mount

take a look at

Code:
man mkitab

should look something like this in /etc/inittab:

Code:
rcnfs:23456789:wait:/etc/rc.nfs > /dev/console 2>&1 # Start NFS Daemons

nfs needs to start with the server before the filesystem mounts, but after the tcpip services.
Code:
automountd

wont help.

confirm what services start with your system before playing around in the inttab. otherwise it's a pain to fix. and I highly suggest the mkitab command instead of of manually editting the /etc/inittab as mkitab will verify before it saves.
