Now, this is not a "technical" advice at all, but useful info on how to deal with "Mama Blue":

Even if IBM does not ship the CDs any more it should be possible to get them from your SR - you have a "serious" talk with her and casually mention her targets and how your (projected) hardware procurement plans will help her to meet these. Usually this does the trick. ;-))

If you have a service contract for your machines (in case of professionally used servers this is always a good idea) you should even be able to get the CD set by opening a software call. Still, playing it nice and asking the SR before is usually a good idea, though.

in.talkd DESCRIPTION
talkd is a server used by the talk(1) program. It listens at the UDP port indicated in the ``talk'' service description; see services(4). The actual conversation takes place on a TCP connection that is established by negotiation between the two machines involved. ATTRIBUTES

The protocol is architecture dependent.
