These scripts call others that I cannot see, so I need to guess at some of this. You are starting up 4 instances of a server, but you only have a single shutdown. Are you sure that you are not leaving 3 instances running? If so those remaining instances are continuing to write to nohup.out. And here is a certain error... You have four scripts all writing to the same nohup.out. They will overwrite each other's data.

Cannot make sudoers change work

I logged in as root and visudo'd /etc/sudoers. I found several users with the username ALL=(ALL) ALL entries and added an account after the last one. Saved the file.        nohup - run a command immune to hangups, with output to a non-tty

SYNOPSIS

       nohup COMMAND [ARG]...

       Run COMMAND, ignoring hangup signals.

       --help display this help and exit

       If  standard  input  is a terminal, redirect it from an unreadable file.  If standard output is a terminal, append output to 'nohup.out' if
