I am using the following code:
for file in *
do
if [ "$file" = *_jun* ] ; then
#Extract the maximum from the filename.
#The ending pattern for the file will be _jun05 et al..
FILE=${file##*_}
cp $file $FILE
elif [ "$file" = *_jul* ] ; then
cp $file $file
fi ;
done
Error I'm getting is as folows:
filecp.sh: bad substitution
