I want to know list of userdefined ports available in aix .Suppose I want to run a process at port 20 .using netstat i could able to find out that no process is listening at that 20 .Still I am not able to bring my process up at port 20.

Hi all,
I am facing a problem while writing a shell script.
My machine has two USB ports- left port and right port.
whenever I connect USBS to both the ports, entry is generated as /sys/block/sdc and /sys/block/sdd and I mount the USBs to a particular directory.

I make to parse the release version from a text file and set the release version label into a Makefile variable. I tried:
VERSION := `grep vsn s1db.app|sed -e s/*\"// -e s/\"*//`
but looks like make, unlike shell, literally just take the entire `grep ...` as the variable value.

I've run into a problem here and I can't seem to figure it out.
OS=Solaris 10 u11 SPARC.
This application (running on a local zone) was having a conflict with a port and I can't seem to find that port listed. (eg 41468)
