It looks like it got chopped to 8.3 format (the filename is 8 characters long, then a dot, then the three letter extension).
Have you tired uudecoding it to see if it actually has retained it's filename? It's very likely that either the other Operating System, or your mail software (or site, like Yahoo) is displaying the filename like that...

This manual page documents briefly the xattr command. The first form lists the names of all xattrs on the given file(s). The second form (-p) prints the value of the xattr attr_name.
