Finding largest file in current directory?

I was hoping to get some assistance with this C program I am working on. The goal is to find the largest file in the current directory and then display this filename along with the filesize. What I have so far will display all the files in the current directory. But, how do I deal with "grabbing" and displaying the filesize?

Shouldn't something like this work for filesize? It doesn't print the correct size.

SYNOPSIS

       int filesize (string  $filename)

DESCRIPTION

	Gets the size for the given file.

PARAMETERS

	      o $filename
		- Path to the file.

RETURN VALUES

	Returns the size of the file in bytes, or FALSE (and generates an error of level E_WARNING) in case of an error.

       Note

	       Because PHP's integer type is signed and many platforms use 32bit integers, some filesystem functions may return unexpected results
	      for files which are larger than 2GB.
