And I recommend you install all of them except your hardware not needed

easy one for you. I am using Solaris 7 on my desktop at home and I don't want to invoke the CDE environment when I boot up. I want it to just boot up to the command line to save on memory. What do I have to do in order to do this? Thanks for your help. (2 Replies)

for example :
when im entering in a session I've got a application menu (
/etc/dt/appconfig/types/en_US)
and i need the default one ( /usr/dt/appconfig/types/C) to be load.

I am running Solaris 9 and wanted the CDE stopped when my users login. Can this be done by adding something to the .profile? Basically when they login they should be at the command line and have to start the CDE themselves.

Hi.
I installed HP UX few weeks ago. It had some problems with DNS resolving, but I have solved it.
Before the last shutdown all was fine.
Now CDE is not starting anymore (no desktop logon - only console logon).
Also mail deamon starts for about 5 minutes, so I removed it from rc2.d.

I have two CDE desktop accounts on different server (called this CDE#1, CDE#2) on the same network.
However, my current setup is connecting to the Solaris CDE#1,CDE#2 via Citrix.
My plan is to connect to CD#1 and then somehow connect to CDE#2.

stg-series - Print the patch series
SYNOPSIS
stg series [options] [<patch-range>]
DESCRIPTION
Show all the patches in the series, or just those in the given range, ordered from top to bottom.
The applied patches are prefixed with a + (except the current patch, which is prefixed with a >), the unapplied patches with a -, and the
hidden patches with a !.
Empty patches are prefixed with a 0.
OPTIONS
-b BRANCH, --branch BRANCH
Use BRANCH instead of the default branch.
-a, --all
Show all patches, including the hidden ones.
-A, --applied
Show the applied patches only.
-U, --unapplied
Show the unapplied patches only.
-H, --hidden
Show the hidden patches only.
-m BRANCH, --missing BRANCH
Show patches in BRANCH missing in current.
-c, --count
Print the number of patches in the series.
-d, --description
Show a short description for each patch.
--author
Show the author name for each patch.
-e, --empty
