Hi you all. I'm trying to enable DHCP in a Sun Utra 5 runing Solaris 8 but during the boot process it sends me the message : "Device not in appropiate status"
Do anyone have enabled DHCP on solaris 8?
Any Procedure?

I'm trying to make a transition from linux to unix, but one of the major hang ups is my networked internet connection.
(1) Cable Internet (Adelphia)
(2) Modem -> Cat5
(3) Cat5 -> D-Link Router
(4) D-Link Router -> Cat5
(5) Cat5 -> D-Link 10/100 Ethernet/USB Adapter

Hello there,
My mulithreaded application (which is too large to represent the source code here) is crashing after installing FreeBSD 7.1-RELEASE/amd64.
It worked properly on others machines (Dual Cores with 4GB of RAM - FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE/i386).

I just got FreeBSD up and running with an XFCE desktop on an old Gateway laptop. It works great, except the wireless setup is scaring me. I can connect to my home WiFi fine most of the time, but I'm concerned about other WiFi that I will need to connect to away from home.

dhclient.leases - DHCP client lease database DESCRIPTION
The Internet Systems Consortium DHCP client keeps a persistent database of leases that it has acquired that are still valid. The database is a free-form ASCII file containing one valid declaration per lease. If more than one declaration appears for a given lease, the last one in the file is used. The file is written as a log, so this is not an unusual occurrance. The format of the lease declarations is described in dhclient.conf(5). FILES
