Thank you for the kind reply. I feel like somewhat of an arse as I did not use the search engine. To be honest I hate search engines but it is perhaps because I am not patient with them.

The articles were very helpful.

Still a couple questions remain. Is there one company who has the exclusive trademark rights to UNIX? Do they put out an official version of unix?
