qmail is not RFC compliant ( does not supports DSNs, for example ), besides it has a very weird, anti-standard, installation and functioning methods...
And on Solaris and other OSs, it makes sense to use sendmail because it's part of the operating system, and it has support...
It's just my opinion, but I always use sendmail when I need a good MTA... if it has some bugs, every MTA does...

Puzzled; I have two Solaris systems, both running Solaris 5.8 and Sendmail version 8.11.7p1. One of the machines will not allow relaying (via anonymous connection to port 25). The other will allow relaying from anywhere to anywhere with impunity.

The praliases utility displays system mail aliases. When no key is given, praliases displays the current system aliases, one per line, in
no particular order. The form is key:value. If a key is given, only that key is looked up and the appropriate key:value is displayed if
