LM 19.1 from pendrive

I get it, but before others waste their time with the OP, I think its important they have the whole story. I cannot figure out how to run a full 'desktop' OS (like Mint, or whatever..Ubuntu, Fedora, etc. doesn't matter) from a USB 2.0 stick (with /home /swap and EVERYTHING on it), with ZERO LAG. And I also can't figure out how to do it on an OLD USB 2.0 stick, that probably has a load of dead cells. If someone else can believe me, I'd love to know because I truly don't, and would love to learn. And add to that the fact they've been at this (that is, running Mint from USB) for 5 YEARS now, and I can't help but feel the OPs posts are an exercise in futility.
I can believe a 3.0 stick would work far better, but still, your limitation is the USB bus.

Hi all,
Can anybody help me with how I can connect a usb pendrive or external disk to a Sun Server which runs on Solaris 9? I am able to connect the usb drive to a windows server easily and copy files but am wondering if it is possible to do that with Solaris.

I have been trying to install a recent distro, with a minimum X such as jwm, but unfortunately my cdrom is broken and I can only boot the USB port, with a pendrive.
AMD K6 3D is today too old for being for linux.

usb_template -- USB templates SYNOPSIS
To compile this module into the kernel, place the following line in your kernel configuration file: device usb_template To load the module at boot time, place the following line in loader.conf(5): usb_template_load="YES" DESCRIPTION
The usb_template module implements various USB templates that are needed when programming an USB device side driver. A USB template consists of an USB device descriptor, one or more USB configuration descriptors, one or more USB interface descriptors, one or more USB endpoint descriptors, USB strings and additional USB descriptors. The USB template module currently has templates for USB Mass Storage, USB CDC Eth- ernet and Message Transfer Protocol. USB templates are currently selected using the "hw.usb.template" sysctl. The "hw.usb.template" value can be changed at any time, but will not have any effect until the USB device has been re-enumerated. SEE ALSO
