Four More UNIX.COM Achievement Award Badges to Award

Happy New Year!

There are currently four UNIX.COM achievement awards up for grabs, as the say. Here they are, in no particular order:
  • The Order of the Raven
  • The Order of the Hippo
  • The Order of the Spider
  • The Order of the Dragon

Don't ask me what they mean, or who who will get those awards yet, because the answer to that question mostly happens in my sleep after hours of deep sleep and REM sleep where my mind solves and works on so many tasks for the following day.

If you have anyone you wish to nominate for a UNIX.COM achievement award, please send me a PRIVATE MESSAGE via the forums PM app, What's App or Line messaging or via my mobile number (but please PM for that number). Pease tell me who and why you think that way. Thanks!

All public nominations will be deleted as all nominations must be in private directly to me.

Also, note please do not nominate Neo for any award. Neo is not eligible for any award this year.

sleep(3C) sleep(3C)

NAME
sleep - suspend execution for an interval of time SYNOPSIS
#include <unistd.h> unsigned int sleep(unsigned int seconds); The caller is suspended from execution for the number of seconds specified by the argument. The actual suspension time may be less than that requested because any caught signal will terminate the sleep() following execution of that signal's catching routine. The suspension time may be longer than requested by an arbitrary amount because of the scheduling of other activity in the system. The value returned by sleep() will be the ``unslept'' amount (the requested time minus the time actually slept) if the caller incurred premature arousal because of a caught signal. The use of the sleep() function has no effect on the action or blockage of any signal. In a multithreaded process, only the invoking thread is suspended from execution.
