The file would never be in the same directory, that wouldn't make any sense.
Example:
I want to copy the file /mnt/g/blender/projects/raider_ship_3000_frame_test_run.blend
And I want to copy the file to my current directory /mnt/backup
I just don't want type the file file name.
1) it's boring.
2) Introducing typos is easy.
And I'm working with a lot of files.
the cp command 'assumes' the current directory to be the destination directory if not specified, I'm just asking if the file name can be assumed to be the same if not specified.
If all your files are in /mnt/g/blender/projects you could try one of
If they are in multiple different directories it's a little more difficult.
If all your files are in different directories, all under, say /mnt/g/blender, and I assume you are using bash as your shell, you could try this: globstar is a bash shell option that expands **/ into all subdirectories.

transition-check
TRANSITION-CHECK(1)TRANSITION-CHECK(1)NAME
transition-check - check a package list for involvement in transitions
SYNOPSIS
transition-check --help|--version
transition-check [-f|--filename=FILENAME] [source package list]
DESCRIPTION
transition-check checks whether any of the listed source packages are involved in a transition for which uploads to unstable are currently
blocked.
If neither a filename nor a list of packages is supplied, transition-check will use the source package name from debian/control.
OPTIONS -f, --filename=filename
Read a source package name from filename, which should be a Debian package control file or .changes file, and add that package to the
list of packages to check.
EXIT STATUS
The exit status indicates whether any of the packages examined were found to be involved in a transition.
0 Either --help or --version was used, or none of the packages examined was involved in a transition.
1 At least one package examined is involved in a current transition.
