I was sure there was a way to put a timestamp ina logfile but I can't seem to figure out how.
What I would like to do is after the last messages in the rptmgr.err log is put a timestamp so I know the next time I look whats new. I am using AIX 5.1

I am searching a directory for a file and have to assign the filename to a variable .
The variable must have form $$filename
So my code is
echo "'$$filename='`ls -lrt *PreMatch*.csv| head -1 | nawk '{print $9}'`"
however $$ is converting to a number .

CONSTRUCTOR
new( $url )
Constructs a new instance of WWW::OpenSearch using the given URL as the location of the engine's OpenSearch Description document
(retrievable via the description_url accessor).
METHODS
fetch_description( [ $url ] )
Fetches the OpenSearch Descsription found either at the given URL or at the URL specified by the description_url accessor. Fetched
description may be accessed via the description accessor.
search( $query [, \%params] )
Searches the engine for the given query using the given search parameters. Valid search parameters include:
o startPage
o totalResults
o startIndex
o itemsPerPage

do_search( $url [, $method] )
