post#4 is unprecise (like post#1), for example will find pid 22 when searching for 2.
While the overall sense is not clear for me, this is certainly *not* intended.
Fix:
Doesn't give this the same result as the code in post#3 ?

I`ve tried to redirect the standard output to /dev/null 2>&1 and also tried to use "nohup" but none of them was succesfull.

Sometimes we need a single instance of a script to run at a time. Meaning, the script itself should detects whether any instances of himself are still running and act accordingly.
When multiple instances of one script running, it’s easy to cause problems. I’ve ever seen that about 350 instances... (4 Replies)

yodlpost - Yodl post-processor
SYNOPSIS
yodlpost [options] index yodlout [out]
DESCRIPTION
The Yodl post processor is used to solve references into the converted text, and to split (where appropriate) the converted Yodl text in
parts. Some conversions do not require post-processing, such as LaTeX, but most do. Therefore, in most cases a Yodl conversion consists of
two phases:
o First, yodl(1) is called, producing a raw output file and an associated index file;
o Then, yodlpost(1) is called, converting these two files into a final document. Normally, yodl2...(1) scripts are used to perform
complete Yodl conversions.
OPTIONS -x ext: extension of the out-s if different from out's extension itself. If omitted, and out has no extension, ypp (Yodl Post Processor) is
used.
