First I' d like to say you guys are awesome. :)
I have a word document that I cut and paste into Textpad and it removed all the fancy formatting which is fine with me. I WinScp'd it to the box and and called it inputfile.txt.

What is a good way to iterate through a variable that has values seperated by a comma?
I thought about converting the commas to spaces, but that sounds inefficent to me. I am using KSH for my shell script. Thank you for any input you can provide.

I've got a KSH which I use to monitor processes then email me when complete. I pass the process name to the script and the update interval.

I am new to writing script and want to use a Bash Piped while-read and read from user input.
if something happens on server.log then do while loop or if something happend on user input then do while loop.
Pseudocode something like:

DROP_TEXT_SEARCH_TEMPLATE - remove a text search template
SYNOPSIS
DROP TEXT SEARCH TEMPLATE [ IF EXISTS ] name [ CASCADE | RESTRICT ]
DESCRIPTION
DROP TEXT SEARCH TEMPLATE drops an existing text search template. You must be a superuser to use this command.
PARAMETERS
IF EXISTS
Do not throw an error if the text search template does not exist. A notice is issued in this case.
name
The name (optionally schema-qualified) of an existing text search template.
CASCADE
Automatically drop objects that depend on the text search template.
RESTRICT
Refuse to drop the text search template if any objects depend on it. This is the default.
EXAMPLES
Remove the text search template thesaurus:
DROP TEXT SEARCH TEMPLATE thesaurus;
This command will not succeed if there are any existing text search dictionaries that use the template. Add CASCADE to drop such
dictionaries along with the template.
COMPATIBILITY
There is no DROP TEXT SEARCH TEMPLATE statement in the SQL standard.
