Some question about SAN on HP 4400 EVA
Good morning.
For testing purpose i have buy a SAN DISK SHELF
i need now a controller(hsv300) and a switch SAN
Is my first SAN so i'm a little confused about cables.
For testing we use an old rx2600 hp server
the adapter is HP A6795AX A6795-62001
Some fast questions:
i need an fc/fc cable for connect the switch to SAN?Or a SFP+?
And for connect the controller to switch?
If i run a server with hba without connect to san will give me problems?(i want to do this for see if adapter work,i buy it refurbished)
Thanks

Hi everyone,
I wonder if I can canvas any opinions or thoughts (good or bad) on SAN attaching a SUN V880/490 to an EMC Clarion SAN?
At the moment the 880 is using 12 internal FC-AL disks as a db server and seems to be doing a pretty good job. It is not I/O, CPU or Memory constrained and the... (2 Replies)

Hi There,
Has anyone had any luck with or know how to get AIX 5+ to boot from a HP EVA 6000 SAN?

My initial searches on this so far did not bring results so I am guessing this may not be possible on HP SAN's but please let me know if I am... (0 Replies)

Hey everyone.
I am working on designing a logging solution for a deployment we have going out in a few months. Right now we have a single storage head end, connected via fibre to a SAN. Basically the plan is to create a number of smaller LUNs on the SAN, and then use LVM2 to handle concatenating... (5 Replies)

Hi,
I am very new to HP-UX, and we're going to be doing a SAN migration.
We're going to take down the machine, and zone it to the new SAN.
My question is, will the device names change and will that interfere with the LVM?
If the new disks come in with different device names, how would I... (3 Replies)

scconf_transp_adap_sci
scconf_transp_adap_sci(1M) System Administration Commands scconf_transp_adap_sci(1M)
NAME
scconf_transp_adap_sci - configure the sci cluster transport adapter
DESCRIPTION
Note -
Beginning with the Sun Cluster 3.2 release, Sun Cluster software includes an object-oriented command set. Although Sun Cluster software
still supports the original command set, Sun Cluster procedural documentation uses only the object-oriented command set. For more infor-
mation about the object-oriented command set, see the Intro(1CL) man page.
You can configure sci SCI-PCI adapters as cluster transport adapters. These adapters can be used with the dlpi transport type.
The adapter name is sciN, for example, sci0. Do not use scidN as the adapter name.
An sci adapter can only be connected to another sci adapter or to an SCI switch. When an sci adapter is connected to an SCI switch, it is
important that you specify the correct port name when referring to a port on the switch as an endpoint argument to the scconf or scinstall
utility. The port name must match the port number on the SCI switch (the number that is printed on the switch itself). Failure to give the
correct port name could result in the operation failing. The result of providing an incorrect port name will be the same as you would see
if the cable between the adapter and the switch were removed.
There are no user-configurable properties for cluster transport adapters of this type.
